Jackson County is located in the southeastern corner of Ohio in the Appalachian foothills. As of 2010, the county’s population was 33,225.
Our county seat is Jackson and is named for Andrew Jackson, a hero of the War of 1812 who was subsequently elected President of the United States.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 422 square miles. 420 square miles is land and 2 square miles is water.
